Congratulations And Thank You

Congratulations to the Cheddleton Flint Mill for organising their Garretaw, a great community event. The Garretaw, or Water Rag spelled backwards, marked the centenary of what was once a traditional celebration in the village. It brought in a full house to enjoy live music and entertainment on a glorious afternoon and evening.

And thank you to the many who visited us on Beatrice during the day. Buying our tea, coffee and cakes raised more than £250 to support our core work, providing day trips on the Caldon Canal for children with additional needs.

A number also took away our leaflets, or asked about how they might join us as volunteers, or book a private trip, another of the ways we earn money to keep the boat running.
